You’d think that after our month away in April we would be done with traveling for a bit, but we actually just got back from a brief, but needed trip to the east coast over memorial day weekend. It was so wonderful to see friends and family that we have missed so dearly. But you know me, I just could not wait to get back to the studio!

This week i’m back at it and i’ve been working hard on my new OOAK pieces for our upcoming June Shop Update and pop-up at the Sideshow Gallery in Chicago, IL.

It’s important to me to always challenge myself to evolve and bring you new pieces each time, and if I do say so myself, these new pieces are absolute stunners! While we still are a couple weeks away from showing you guys some sneak peeks of the final product, we wanted to take a moment to take you guys behind the scenes and show you a few of our work in progress photos for the upcoming collection. You can see more and even some videos on our instagram feed and stories.

These new projects just happen to coincide with the arrival of the new moon in June. Which is a perfect time to take on something new or start moving in a different direction. It also happens to be an important time for contemplation and reinvigorated creativity. Many people look to the full moon as the most important or influential phase of the lunar cycle, but in fact, the spiritual meaning of the new moon is just as important! The Earth, the sun, and the moon are all in line, so the tides are at their highest and lowest during both the full and new moon. These are both the most defining phases of the lunar cycle, and water (the element that governs our emotions) is transformed by their energy. To put it plainly: The full moon is about completion, and the new moon is just the beginning.

June 3 brings a new moon in Gemini, showing up with the need for changes and spontaneity. There are many gemstones that are important to new moon rituals which happen to be found in a multitude of our newest jewelry. They include moonstone, labradorite, chrysocolla, smoky quartz, and clear quartz.

Here are some ways to harness the potential of the New Moon phase:

On a new moon, it's a good idea to record your intentions for the upcoming month and ask the universe for support in realizing them. We often get stuck in the monotony and dirge of doubt, this is a time to cast those negative emotions aside. It should be more than apparent that our creative endeavors and sharing our craft is where we find solace. This is a time to focus on spells and rituals that are about beginning again, banishing the old, and moving forward. Needless to say we are focused on looking ahead to the summer the pop-up events we have coming up. One that we already mentioned is at Sideshow Gallery in Chicago on June 28 & 29 and at Virago Gallery in Seattle on July 12th & 13th! Hope to see you if you are in either of these great cities!
