I remember being 5 years old watching the "The Wizard of Oz", and thinking, "could they really tell the future? What would I see in the crystal ball?" These mystical orbs have long held a special place in my heart which is apparent throughout many of our Acid Queen designs . Since I first started making jewelry, it has been a never-ending journey and goal to continue to find unique and interesting ways to showcase, honor, and encapsulate them into wearable art that brings magic to everyday life.
The History of the Crystal Ball Meaning
Not only are crystal balls beautiful and unique, but they are rich in history and folklore, making them all the more enchanting. Crystal balls have been revered in various cultures around the world for ages. They’ve been used for divination since the dawn of the first century. The Roman Empire used crystal balls in their scrying rituals, which were widespread until they were deemed heretical by Christianity in the medieval ages. (Big surprise)
In the middle ages, Queen Elizabeth’s very own consultant, John Dee, brought light to using crystal balls for divination once again, as he was compelled to use a ball for scrying and seeking answers for the future. Later on in the Victorian era, crystal balls became more popular, and remain so today.

For someone like me who suffers from anxiety and ADHD (Think constant over thinker with social anxiety), I understand how important it is to find ways to soothe yourself while inspiring focus in moments of struggle (or even excitement!). Wearing my crystal ball necklace is my go-to when I am doing live or in-person events, as it allows me to be hands-free. With the crystal ball suspended right at my heart chakra, I have comfort in knowing that I can grab it whenever I need to, connect back to my heart-center, inner strength, and the present moment. Also compliments never hurt!
